Past Volunteers Jodie's story

BIO:

Volunteer of the Mongh
Name: Jodie Butcher Kennedy Age: 27
Born: Bournemouth / England
Status: Working in the UK

I worked in the city of Nakhon Ratchasima , Thailand 's second largest city and biggest province. Although it is a big city it was still very different from anything in England . My immediate impression of the city, even though it was a pretty big place was that everyone was so friendly, open and interested in what I was doing.

I never felt lonely, something I was worried about before I left England . I was always being invited to take part in anything that was going on, in fact I had to learn how to say no, and otherwise I wouldn't have ever had a single evening to myself.

The children I taught quickly got over their initial shyness and we had a lot of fun in, and out of the classroom. I was amazed how polite the students and how keen to learn they were. I miss them already, even though it's only been a few days since I've left them.

I'm already planning my next trip to Thailand , and I think I'll stay much longer and learn more about the language and culture. Learning a little Thai before I came really helped and I recommend you do it if you're thinking of going.

Well, it's bye for now everyone and see you again.

Love

Jodie XXX
