In life you can read about and theorize about everything until you are blue in the face. But, until you actually experience and see something for yourself you can never truly understand it. We have all seen the advertisements on TV for sponsorships of different towns and different orphans but after experiencing Baan Dada you can be rest assured that your donation is going directly to the child that needs it.
After spending time first hand with the kids, I can fully understand the effect of not only money for their education and food, but more so the time that you spend bonding with these children. For children who have been so deprived of love, that is all I saw from them during my short but sweet stay at Baan Dada. Our group was involved in the making of mud bricks, and the painting of the playroom as well as the library, which is now acting as the girls' bedroom.
We had two huge play days in which the orphans of two other communities came and spent the weekend enjoying various activities and for breaks, swimming in the river. We experienced so much and enjoyed the children as much as I am sure they appreciated us. These experiences are not everyday and we appreciated our time there.
