Sponsor-A-Child Project |
| |
Dragonfly’s Sponsor-A-Child Project began as a limited response to the 2004 tsunami but is blossoming into an international effort, with generous donors in several countries. Our aim is to provide immediate and long-term help to orphaned and otherwise disadvantaged children that genuinely need our support.

History |
| |
Dragonfly started our Sponsor-A-Child Project shortly after the devastating tsunami which struck southern Thailand in 2004. We decided to help out in Ban Nam Kaem village, Pang Nga province, which lost over 2000 of its 7000 residents. We chose to sponsor a small number of children who had lost one or both parents, their homes, and belongings. More recently, we’ve expanded our program into other regions of Thailand to help even more children in need.
| How We Help |
| |
We collect funds from donors and sponsors and distribute it to the children for their school uniforms, books, other supplies, transportation to and from school, and sometimes school meals. But we need donations and sponsorships to help keep this project going.
| What You Can Do |
| |
With your help we can provide the children in our project with the support that they need. You can help this project directly by making a donation or by organizing a fundraising campaign on behalf of the children. You can also make a long-term commitment by becoming a sponsor and helping to provide a child with his or her monthly needs. What might seem a small contribution to you can mean the world to a disadvantaged child.
